UofL vs UK game-by-game series stats

Posted on Sep 15 2011 - 3:28pm by Brent Lepping

Since the rivalry renewed in 1994 it’s been a pretty balanced series between the two schools. Currently the good guys have a slight 9-8 lead overall, and no team has ever lost 5 straight. John Clay of the Herald Leader provides a quick glimpse at the game-by-game stats of both teams and the results:

One thing that has always stood out to me when looking at the modern-day series is that U of L has beaten UK many times by double digits, which I consider a considerable win or even a blowout. UK has hardly ever blown out U of L.

Good point Frank. Still pisses me off that UK crushed us in the grand opening of our new stadium. Seeing them Cayut fans leaving happy was my worst nightmare. That and trying to cut back across campus with a train bearing down on me.

True, Senore, that did hurt, but then we doubled them up the very next year in Lexington, 56-28. And from 1999-2006, when we won 7 out of those 8, we beat them by an average of 20 points. And they think they've been kicking our ass ever since then? Crazy. Three of the four have been decided by 7 points or less, Cayut fans.

And historically, we play pretty well in Cardinalwealth Stadium, going 6-4 against Big Blew.
