The staff has made it a point to address immediate needs with players from the JUCO ranks. Last night came news that Louisville landed another prospect that will be here for spring ball to compete for the spot Gerald Christian will leave after the Belk Bowl. That player is Cole Hikutini, who was verbally committed to Purdue before flipping to UofL. You can watch Cole’s highlight film HERE.
Cole Hikutini, a tight end from City College of San Francisco, committed to the Cardinals over Purdue Saturday night. Hikutini verbally committed to Purdue last week, but didn’t sign and opted for Louisville instead.
A 6’5, 245-pound standout, Hikutini had 40 receptions for 658 yards and four touchdowns this season.
As a freshman at Sacramento State, Hikutini made 21 catches for 204 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 23 yards per reception.
Besides Louisville and Purdue, Hikutini held offers from Southern Miss, Illinois, Nevada, as well as interest from Miami, Mississippi State and Washington.
