Today, Rick Pitino is expected to be in Chicago to check in on top ten big man Cliff Alexander. Alexander is ranked #8 in the 2014 class by 247sports.com and holds offers from high major programs like Louisville, Kentucky, Michigan State, Florida, Arizona, Kansas, Ohio State, and Indiana.

Although Alexander is still pretty early in his recruitment, he has made his interest in Louisville pretty clear. Kareem Richardson, who has some solid Illinois connections, is the lead man in Alexander’s recruitment.

It is pretty clear that Pitino wants to cast a wide net when it comes to the 2014 class. With ten or eleven five-stars, including Cliff Alexander, on their recruiting board, it is hard to think that Louisville’s 2014 class will not be pretty solid.
