With a lot of people starting to clamor about the outdated nature of the RPI (which is made up of 25% of your record, 50% of your opponents records and 25% of your opponents opponents’ records) ESPN’s BPI ratings index is starting to make some noise on the national scene. It’s a more modern formula that uses more impact-worthy information such as missing players, pace of game, whether the team was playing at home or on the road, etc. In their latest updated projections, Louisville checks in at #12 (clearly taking into consideration some of the injury woes throughout the season).
