Make it five commitments in 6 days for Charlie Strong and the University of Louisville football program. Just under an hour ago, one of the top prospects in Palm Beach County (FL), Marques Gayot gave his verbal pledge to the Cards. Gayot, a big powerful hitter at 6’2, 210 lbs, chose Louisville over Cal, Kentucky, South Florida, Bowling Green and Florida Atlantic. According to this piece from the Palm Beach Post, Gayot runs a 4.6 40-yard dash and collected 2 interceptions as a junior last season at Park Vista Community High School. In addition to lining up at safety for Park Vista on the defensive side of the ball, Gayot also plays wide receiver and caught 12 touchdown passes last year.

Right before the news of Gayot committing began to leak out, Charlie Strong received another verbal pledge form Jacksonville (FL) Trinity Christian offensive lineman, Kavaris Harkless. A 6’5, 275lb three-star tackle, Harkless also had offers from Iowa State, UCF, Duke, Maryland, Minnesota and Clemson.
