Louisville Football Early Enrolees

Gerod Holliman has enrolled at Louisville

Per Andrea Adelson of ESPN:

Keith Brown, LB, 6-1, 225 pounds, Miami (Miami Norland)

James Burgess Jr., LB, 6-0, 200 pounds, Homestead, Fla. (Homestead Senior)

Gerald Christian, TE, 6-3, 240 pounds, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. (William T. Dwyer/Florida)

Robert Clark, WR, 5-8, 185 pounds, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. (William T. Dwyer/Florida)

Gerod Holliman, DB, 6-0, 185 pounds, Miami (Northwestern/Milford)

Ryan Hubbell, TE, 6-5, 235 pounds, Council Bluffs, Iowa (Iowa Western)

Notes: Well, it is clear coach Charlie Strong is assembling some major talent in Louisville. Brown and Burgess are four-star commitments and two of the standout players for the class of 2010. Holliman was a four-star pledge last season, and Christian was a four-star recruit when he signed with Florida in 2010. It is great to see Holliman qualify academically after spending a year at Milford Academy. His addition will be huge for a young secondary that made major strides last season, especially when you consider he is one of the top prospects Strong has signed during his brief tenure there. Linebacker also was a major area of need, so getting Brown and Burgess in early only helps. Hubbell was one of the top junior college players available, and there is a definite need at tight end with Josh Chichester gone. Clark was a three-star player when he signed with Florida in the class of 2010. Both he and Christian will have to sit out a year, per NCAA transfer rules.

Charlie is flat getting it done on the recruiting trail right now! Im pretty pumped about the years to come for UofL football. This makes me wonder if maybe we need to get some new blood in the basketball program. I realize Rick is a great coach and has the history but I'm just not impressed with what I'm seeing on the floor…lack of fundaments.
