We predicted last month that Louisville commit Anton Gill might have a very legitimate shot of becoming a McDonald’s All-American and today it’s beginning to look like that plan might very well come to light. Scout.com released their latest batch of updated 2013 rankings and Gill is now listed as a coveted 5-star player and checks in at #26 overall. The 5-star distinction is only awarded to the best 28 players in the nation. The 6-4, 180 lb combo guard from Raleigh, N.C., has steadily risen up the rankings since becoming fully healthy 9-10 months ago. At this time last year Gill was suffering from a foot / ankle injury which hampered his play and cost him valuable real estate in the various recruiting rankings. However, since rehabbing that injury, leading his high school team to a state championship and exploding on the AAU scene this spring and summer, he’s proven that he’s among the best of the best in the 2013 class. Gill will attend Hargrave Military Academy this fall where he’ll continue to grow his game and compete against some of the best prep players in the country. Other Louisville recruits of note: James Young #8, Anthony Barber #9, Jarell Martin #11, Jermaine Lawrence #14, Tyler Ennis #20, Demetrius Jackson #23 (and one of the very biggest movers of the entire class), Kennedy Meeks #29, JaJuan Johnson #31, Jordan Mickey #33, Marcus Lee #37, Troy Williams #40, Moses Kingsley #50.
