Hurtt turns down Auburn to stay with the Cards

You can’t blame him for wanting to look into the opportunity. You can’t really say “no” when the newly crowned National Champions come calling. However, in the end, “no” is exactly what Louisville Defensive Line Coach and Head Recruiter Clint Hurtt said to the Auburn Tigers. Auburn head coach Gene Chizik had a void to fill on his defensive coaching staff after Tracy Rocker left for a gig in the NFL with the Tennessee Titans. Hurtt went down and met with Auburn officials and the entire coaching staff, but has decided to remain with the Louisville Cardinals. At the end of the day, the opportunity to continue the momentum that Head Coach Charlie Strong is building with the U of L football program, proved to be too much to leave on the table. Hurtt was named by ESPN as the nation’s #1 college recruiter after his incredible success in helping Louisville land a top 25 class for 2011. His connections in South Florida and particularly the Miami area have proved invaluable to the program.

Here’s to many more years with Coach Hurtt on board, as well as many more nationally ranked recruiting classes!
