In what is being billed as their biggest game in school history, FIU is holding a white-out promotion and giving away t-shirts to the first 300 students in attendance.  The school is also giving away a host of other items like team posters, magnets, and schedules as they captialize on the defending champs coming to town.  The Golden Panthers, now in C-USA are 8-4 and are led by former Cardinal Rakeem Buckles, who’s averaging 14 points and 10 rebounds a game.  Despite all the hoopla around FIU’s campus, the Cards should be able to take of business with ease as FIU has lost to Eastern Kentucky by 22 and Nova Southeastern (who?) by 18.

The FIU men’s basketball team will host the defending National Champion Louisville Cardinals, led by 2013 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Head CoachRick Pitino, on Saturday, December 21, on Lime Court at U.S. Century Bank Arena. Tip-off is set for 6:07 p.m. (ET) and the contest will be televised on FOX Sports 1.

Ranked No. 6 (AP Top 25) and No. 4 (USA Today Coaches) in this week’s national polls, Louisville will become the highest ranked opponent to visit U.S. Century Bank Arena and be the first-ever defending national champion to face the Panthers on their home court.

Here’s the promotional poster for the game.
