According to this tweet from WDRB’s Eric Crawford, Louisville head coach Rick Pitino has announced that forward Chane Behanan will miss the Seton Hall game this Wednesday and will not travel with the team. According to Pitino, Behanan has a high ankle sprain and could miss 7-10 days. The 6-6 sophomore has played outstanding basketball over the team’s last 5-6 games and has been one of the main catalysts in the Cardinals’ overall dominance since losing to Duke in the finals of the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament. Pitino said that freshman Montrezl Harrell will start in his place. Behanan is averaging 11.5 points and 7 rebounds a game and should be back in time for Louisville’s huge home tilt with Syracuse next Saturday (the 19th). This makes four injuries on the season by my count, but aside from Mike Marra’s ACL tear in the summer, nothing has been too crazy. Easily the slowest injury season for Louisville fans since Rick Pitino arrived here in 2001. Like Pavlov’s dogs, we’re conditioned for the absolute worst, so in all reality, this isn’t even that big of a deal.
Get well Chane.
