As we’ve said for awhile now on the program, by the time it’s all said and done, Petrino and Co. will likely sign the best recruiting class in the history of the program (at least on paper). This weekend figures to go a long way in determining how everything plays out. To date, there are currently 18 prospects scheduled to visit campus. In this group, there are several commits making the trip, including 4-star QB Lamar Jackson and 3-star RB Matt Colburn. Insidetheville.com’s Mike Hughes told us on the radio show last week to expect some commitments, so we figure to get a good handle on how the 2015 class will shape up. Other headliners in this group are 4-star DE Mehki Brown (an Alabama commit), 4-star RB Jordan Cronkite, and 3-star RB Rocky Reid. New names to the list are 3-star DE and Nebraska commit Reuben Jones and JUCO WR Camion Patrick. Patrick was a 3-star coming out of high school and held offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.
Also, the next two weeks are shaping up to be big recruiting weekends as well as 12 prospects are currently scheduled to be on campus.
Last week, a trio of 3-star UofL commitments were offered by national powerhouse-type SEC programs. Tim Bonner was offered by Ole Miss, Sheldrick Redwine got an offer from Auburn, and GG Robinson received one from Florida. Louisville is now recruiting in the big leagues, we’ll see how well they can close in the next few weeks.
Here’s the most current list of signees and commitments, which ranks 33rd nationally and 6th in the ACC.
